Film. This short film is an exploration of the othered in 20th century America through visual and auditory primary sources, using public domain footage, government propaganda, instructional films, famous speeches, interviews, advertisements, and entertainment programs. The film was made by collecting clips from online sources and streaming them together using a modern chill-wave song as a thoroughline, creating a loose and vague narrative that prompts the viewer to reflect and project their own understanding and perspectives onto the film. The goal was to examine how "outsiders" were portrayed through sources contemporary to the novel, particularly through mainstream platforms.
